Hello Santa Cruz Pop Warner Families-
There are a total of 74 days until the start of our 2010 Season. I cannot wait to see all the smiling faces on the field. Some are repeats and some are new. Please do not skip anything as it is all important information.
1. We are filling up quickly with the football teams, so if you need to register still, or know of someone that is interested in registering, do so now to ensure your slot on the team.
a. Please visit www.santacruzpopwarner.org and click on registration
b. FEES HAVE INCREASED…Football is $185.00 per player and Cheer is $150.00 per participant.
c. For returning players, we DO NOT need birth certificates. However, please remember to scan and email to santacruz...@gmail.com, fax to 831-469-0387 between the hours of 8am-5pm Monday through Friday, or mail to the P.O. Box 2962, Santa Cruz, CA. 95063, the following documents; All 4 Quarter Report Cards, and 2010 Physicals. Please make sure that all documents are in to Pop Warner no later than June 30, 2010 so that we have time to get the books ready for Practice on August 1st. Also, any child in need of a physical, we will be holding physicals on May 26, 2010, Behind Dominican Hospital at the Education Building, 1555 Soquel Drive, Santa Cruz, CA 95065 from 6pm to 8pm costs is $20.00 per child. We will not be having the physicals on June 15th. If you are in need of a physical, please make sure that you are at the May 26 physical.
2. ATTENTION TO ALL CHEER PARENTS. Santa Cruz Pop Warner has teamed up with Santa Cruz Gymnastics. There will be a free tumbling class on Saturday, May 22, 2010 from 9am until noon. We will also be conducting registration there for girls that are still interested in signing up. Please come and check out the free tumbling class and tell your friends to come and sign up for cheer. There is still space available.
3. Attention to all Stingray and Seahawk Parents from 2009 season. We have had an overwhelming request for parents to purchase their child’s Jersey from last season. We will be selling the Stingray and the Seahawk Jerseys at Physicals on May 26, 2010, Dominican Sports Medicine, Behind Dominican Rehabilitation Center, 1610 Fredrick Street, Santa Cruz, CA 95062. The price will be $25.00 per Jersey. The Jersey’s will only be on sale for those players that played on the Seahawks and the Stingrays for the 2009 season. Come and purchase your child memento for 2009 season!
4. WE NEED PARENTS TO COME AND VOLUNTEER!!! We are starting off our season with a few events that you can sign up for and start your volunteer hours.
a. July 4th we will be holding our annual Pancake Breakfast at Harvey West Park for the 10K runner of the Santa Cruz Sunrise Club. We need two shifts of parents to help with the cooking, cleaning and receipt of tickets for this event. First shift will be from 6am-9:30am and the second shift will be 9:30am to close (usually around noon). Please email us and let us know which shift you are interested in volunteering for. Also, bring your family and friends to eat pancakes prepared by Santa Cruz Pop Warner Volunteers. Everyone is welcomed for participate in this event. Adults $5.00 and Children $3.50. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
b. We are still in need of parents to volunteer at the open houses. WE ONLY HAVE FOUR SCHOOLS LEFT. We need more cheerleaders for the program. As of now, we only have 23 girls for the whole program. If your child attends one of these schools and you are willing to assist at the open house or if you are willing to man a table at a school that your child does not attend, please contact me immediately. A lot of time and preparation has gone into reach out to these schools to get the face of our organization in front of new parents and participants. Please help us to fill all of the time slots. Remember, this can count towards your hours for the upcoming season. Please see the list below for the schools that we still need to staff with volunteers:
