"Rodney Miller’s fiddling is like a seasoned storyteller, describing in lyrical detail a
different episode of life with each swing of the bow."    - Andy Nagy, the Boston Globe

Designated a ‘Master Fiddler’ in 1983 by the National Endowment for the Arts, Rodney Miller
is widely considered to be the foremost exponent of New England style fiddling, a uniquely
American blend of Celtic and French Canadian influences.  He represented the State of NH
at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival and was appointed ‘New Hampshire Artist Laureate’ in 2014.

Rodney published his ‘Collection of Original Fiddle Tunes’ in 2021 containing 270 original
fiddle tunes, available through his website <www.rodneymiller.net>.  His tunes have been
recorded by Sharon Shannon, Jeremy Kittel, Mareka Naito & Junji Sharota, Buttons and Bows
with Jackie Daly, among others. He was recently interviewed by Fussfactory on the creative
process, part of their ‘Sparkchamber’ series of interviews with artists of many persuasions
including teachers, painters, poets, writers, and musicians. Rodney’s interview can be viewed at:

Daniel Stenberg: piano, flute, banjo, vielle
Daniel Steinberg, contra dance musician and founding member of the Hillbillies from Mars,
will accompany Rodney. Over the past 40 years, Daniel has developed a unique approach to
playing traditional dance music, incorporating his diverse interests in world music.  In addition
to performances and recordings with the Hillbillies from Mars and the Rodney Miller Band, he
has collected and taught French traditional dances, performed with Afro-pop and Latin American
ensembles, and plays on Hori da, an album of Basque music, with the band Ospa.  Since 1999,
he has directed the World Harmony Chorus, a community chorus with 3 branches in Northern CA.
