Celebrate the joy of Zimbabwean music with a night of dancing, rhythm,
and celebration as two powerhouse ensembles bring the heart of Zimbabwe
to the stage. Expect contagious grooves, soaring vocals, electrified roots, and
traditional music—performed by an all‑star lineup of Zimbabwean artists:
Discover the vibrant sounds of Zimbabwe with Mbira dzaSoko, a traditional
ensemble founded and led by Salani “Wamkanganise.” Mbira dzaSoko is
elevated by its soaring vocal harmonies, driven by incredible singers who create
a powerful, melodic lift over the mbira foundation. Salani, the band leader, adds
an unmistakable edge with his resounding bass vocals and rhythmic bass mbira,
grounding the ensemble while enhancing its dynamic range and musical depth.
Mufaro weDzimbahwe is a new, electric dance band, inspired by mbira music
and musical pioneers like Thomas Mapfumo and Oliver Mtukudzi. Expect drums,
bass, mbira, guitar, accordion, ukulele, marimbas, rich vocals and vibrant percussion
that will keep you dancing all night.
