Many of you know that I've been developing a new cultural arts venue in downtown Santa Cruz: Zócalo Arts. In conjunction with Mike Lewinski, and with the help of many other members of the community, we've been renovating an 1884 church building that housed Tri Yoga from 1996-2020.
This Wednesday, June 17, we are offering a sneak preview of the Zócalo, with a performance by the World Harmony Chorus at 7:30pm, followed by a reception with food and drink. We hope to see you there!
Note: Washington St and parts of adjoining streets are 24/7 permit-only parking. Park on Lincoln, Chestnut, or downtown lots, and check signs carefully. Or ride your bike and lock it up in our bike rack!

For more information, see the chorus website at: <http://InstantHarmony.com/chorus.html>--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Founded in 1999, the World Harmony Chorus performs vocal music from around the world. The WHC is a community chorus, open to singers at all levels of ability and experience. Drawn from a wide variety of ethnic sources and folk traditions, including hymns from Madagascar and Zimbabwe, Eastern European kolos, Latin American choral works, and English and American folk music, the repertoire is exciting and rich with harmony and polyrhythm.
Founder and director Daniel Steinberg has been collecting choral music and leading "Instant Harmony" workshops around the country for many years. He also performs on piano and flute in several contra dance bands, a Brazilian forró band (Mr. Bidu's Circus), a swing trio (LaTiDo), and a Basque band (Ospa).
