Each year, only the finest barrels are selected, ensuring a wine that consistently showcases depth, elegance, and complexity — regardless of vintage conditions.
We’re especially excited that Isabelle Clendenen herself will be joining us to share stories behind this special wine.

Wine Tasting Event Featuring Wynne Sargeant - Matilija Wines + Julia Weinberg - Soûl Wines
When: Tue Jul 1, 2025 at 06:00 PM to Tue Jul 1, 2025 at 08:00 PM
Where: The Good Land Wine Shop & Bar 4177 State St, Santa Barbara, CA 93110, United States
Why:
Come to the shop this Tuesday, July 1st, at 5:30 pm and meet two amazing winemakers: Wynne Sargeant of Matilija Wines and Julia Weinberg of Soûl Wines.
Matilija is a Chumash name for the local wilderness, the local sandstone that scatters the hills, and the Matilija poppy. Also, I might add, the winemaking adventure of husband and wife team Cody & Wynne Sargeant. In many ways, it embodies the beauty of Santa Barbara, which served as their primary inspiration for this project. Their winemaking approach involves minimal intervention––each step thoughtfully carried out by the two of them with an eye towards quality. A couple winemaking together...how about that!
At Soûl Wines, we believe wine should be fun and real - that wine should be “Au Naturale”. We want to strip away the unnecessary and reveal what’s really there. We want to give you Soûl! Soûl is Lucas Meisinger, Julia Weinberg and Doug Bennett. We don’t have a vineyard, we don’t have a chateau, but we do have Soûl. We’re three friends living in Santa Barbara, loving the wine life, making something honest, and most importantly having a lot of FUN!
So come on by the shop and meet Wynne and Julia, taste their amazing wines, have some local cheese, and listen to the live music of Gary Heck. $25 - The Good Land provides...

At that time, the ATF—an independent bureau within the United States Department of the Treasury—began receiving and handling petitions for AVAs from regional wine or grape growing organizations across the country. In January 2003, under the provisions of the Homeland Security Act of 2002, the ATF was reorganized and the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) was created to oversee the process of defining officially recognized American Viticultural Areas...
