The counter-translation is accurate. There are often no grammar errors. But some of the steps have been deviated from the original. There may be no trouble in acquiring emotion. But after a few years, how can a decision be made between the original and the retranslation as to what is the original? I wonder if there is any arrangement there.
English to Sanskrit
केन महोदय, ९.
पुनर्नामांसि ।
प्रति-अनुवादः समीचीनः । प्रायः व्याकरणदोषाः न भवन्ति । किन्तु केचन पदानि मूलात् व्यभिचारितानि सन्ति। भावार्जने कष्टं न स्यात् । किन्तु कतिपयवर्षेभ्यः परं मूलस्य पुनः अनुवादस्य च मध्ये कथं निर्णयः क्रियते यत् मूलं किम् इति ? तत्र किमपि व्यवस्था अस्ति वा इति चिन्तयामि।
As long as translated in Sanskrit text's grammar is correct Sanskrit can be learned both way. Originality in translation may get lost in any Indic language not just in Sanskrit. Newly added Google Translation of Sanskrit may challenge Sanskrit scholars who were traditionally providing Vedic knowledge to westerners in English via translation and transliteration but not the same way to fellow Indians who protect languages and culture in Indic scripts. Sanskrit scholars need to improve this tool through feedbacks.
