मायामोहमयीं भवप्रणयिनीं नास्थां जहीमो वयम् ॥ kālena kṣitivārivahnipavanavyomādiyuktaṃ jagad brahmādyāśca surāḥ prayānti vilayaṃ vidmo vicārāditi | paśyāmo'pi vinaśyate'navarataṃ lokānanekān mudhā māyāmohamayīṃ bhavapraṇayinīṃ nāsthāṃ jahīmo vayam || The world constituted of earth, water, fire, air and ether, as well as Gods such as Brahmā, all these go into dissolution in course of time ; this we realize as we think over it. We also see a number of people disappear regularly (into death). But, alas ! We do not give up our attachment to the things of the world, overcome as we are with the delusion caused by illusion.
