to sanskrit-abhyasa-varga---muscat

काममा मरणात् तिष्ठेद् गृहे कन्यर्तुमत्यपि ।

न चैवेनां प्रयच्छेत गुणहीनाय कर्हिचित् ॥
kāmamā maraṇāt tiṣṭhed gṛhe kanyartumatyapi |
na caivenāṃ prayaccheta guṇahīnāya karhicit ||
A maiden may well stay in her (father’s) house, even after puberty, till her death, but he (her father) shall not give her (in marriage) to one destitute of good qualities.
