कर्मारण्यं दहति शिखिवन्मातृवत्पाति दुःखात्

सम्यग्रीतिं वदति गुरुवत् स्वामिवद् यद् बिभर्ति ।

तत्त्वातत्त्वप्रकटनपटुः स्पष्टमाप्नोति पूतं

तत् संज्ञानं विगलितमलं ज्ञानदानेन मर्त्यः ॥

karmāraṇyaṃ dahati śikhivanmātṛvatpāti duḥkhāt

samyagrītiṃ vadati guruvat svāmivad yad bibharti |

tattvātattvaprakaṭanapaṭuḥ spaṣṭamāpnoti pūtaṃ

tat saṃjñānaṃ vigalitamalaṃ jñānadānena martyaḥ ||

It burns the forest of Karma (the cause of bondage) like fire, protects one from sorrow like a mother, teaches the correct course to be followed like a spiritual preceptor and maintains him like an (affectionate) master - thus a man who is clever in discerning what is true and false clearly gets that good wisdom which is pure and free from all impurities by the gift of correct knowledge.
