This weekend is our camp out at Buescher State Park. The registration barcode is 61408. Buescher is located about halfway between Houston and San Antonio, and can be reached by various routes, all of which take about two and half to three hours. I recommend taking I-10 west out of Houston to Columbus, taking exit 695 to TX-71 towards La Grange/Austin. After about 48 miles and after TX-71 meets Loop 230 and FM 153, turn right onto Klbj Rd before turning left onto Ann Powell Rd/Co Rd 174. Co Rd 174 becomes Park Rd 1 C and takes you into the park.

Please note, most GPS units by default direct drivers to enter through the back entrance via Park Road 1C; this road has low clearance and tight turns.

We have nine sites in the Cozy Circle camping area, please stay two families to a site. Popups and tents allowed, no more than two of either at each site.

There is a day use fee of $4 per day per person 13 and older to be paid to the park. I will have National Guard drill this weekend, but I will set up the area on Friday morning and hope to have time to visit you all Saturday night. Yatahey!

This weekend is Team Synergy's Parent Child Challenge Course. This is a low and high ropes challenge course in Huntsville; Team Synergy specializes in corporate team building, and does a great job testing our ability to communicate with one another and work as a team.

Circle Leaders: I need a head count of how many would be interested in going this weekend, as right now we don't have enough to go forward with the event. The ages are seven and up.

Join us for tent camping this weekend at the Double Lakes Recreation Area located just an hour north of the Woodlands (hour and a half in traffic). Since the last e-mail blast the forecast for this weekend has changed to partly cloudy with a 10% chance of rain, lows in the mid fifties, so very nice indeed. Sunday has a higher percent chance of thunderstorms.

The registration code for this weekend's event is: 59179. Only register one individual per family. Definitely bring your bikes and fishing gear if you've got them. There is no day fee or vehicle fee, just let them know when you come in that you're with the Adventure Guides.

Directions:

Travel north on I-45 past Conroe, take exit 102 and turn right on FM 1375 into New Waverly. In New Waverly, turn left at 75 just before turning right on TX-150. After twenty miles, turn right onto FM 2025, then turn left onto Double Lake Trail. Follow the signs to Group Sites A and B.

This Friday night is the first event of the semester: Lock-in at Basel's Gym! Basel's Gym is located just west of the intersection of Louetta and Kuykendahl, south of the Woodlands. It is readily identified as the being behind Starbucks with a sign that has a black star on yellow background. Activities include a Slumberless Party with games facilitated by Basel's Gym staff, fort building, trampolines, foam pits, and a movie when it gets late. We had a big turnout last year and (it seemed to me!) everyone really enjoyed themselves. If you are registering online, the barcode for the event is 58760. Bring snacks and sleeping gear!

The event is from 8pm to 8am, and is for both boys and girls. Circle Leaders, please verify your Circle receives this information.

Our next event is our signature Sweethearts Dance. This year we would like to open up the dance to any father-daughter combo, even those that aren't in Adventure Guides. This is a great opportunity to bring in a friend, neighbor or coworker and introduce them to the value of our program. We will have slideshows of our past events playing both in the lobby and in the gym, so I need to ask those of you that have been taking photos to please e-mail me your best stuff!
