Please note that the "Republican" (a.k.a. "Grand Old" or "G.O.P.")
Party, when it was the "Grand New Party"* ("G.N.P."*?), was actually
called the "Anti-Freemason Party." (Freemasons, of course, purvey
Occult, licentious and otherwise diabolical activities.)

because "G.N.P." probably already stood for "gross national product,"
as you probably know. That's just my brand of comic relief. But the
rest is absolutely true.
