Brief Project description
Responsible for
leading a team (Business Analysts, Business Process Owners, Project Leads,
Technologists) through business/platform software implementation projects.
Lead large projects/programs of work within complex and fast-paced
organizations, using varying delivery models (waterfall, Agile/scrum, etc.).
Contribute to the health and strategy of the broader PMO – supporting the
director in optimizing delivery methods and ultimately increasing value and
customer satisfaction.
Required Skills:
At least 10-17+
years of direct work experience in a Program management capacity, including all
aspects of process development and execution.
At least 7 years of experience in a Project Manager or Solution Delivery role
leading Business/Technology solutions projects.
At least 4+ years direct work experience with Agile/Scrum delivery preferred
education.
Define and enforce project management standards and practices.
Work with Application Managers to co-manage functional and technical resources assigned to projects.
Communicate
process/system issues/impacts with senior management, steering committee, and
business sponsors in non-technical terms.
Participate in client's project management practices, including work intake
(scoping/risk assessment) and all PMO milestone activities.
Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the
project life cycle, and confer with project staff to outline work plan.
Establish work plan and staffing for project activities, iterations or phases,
and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
Perform risk assessment and implement mitigation plans.
Establish and track spend and costs for all aspects of managed projects.
Track critical project metrics (depending on delivery methodology).
Ensure that project goals are accomplished and are in line with business
objectives and business value is realized.
Provide program level status reports and dashboards with key metrics to
management.
Continuously benchmark project management and team performance to help
leadership identify gaps and address needs
Direct and manage multiple projects and teams in development from beginning to
end. Develop full-scale Program plans and associated communications documents.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
Identify and manage Program dependencies and critical path.
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation,
and presentations.
Proactively manage changes in Program scope, identify potential crises, and
devise contingency plans.
Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise Program team members and contractors, and
influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned
work.
Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the
Program.
Strong familiarity with project management software, including MS Project and
Jira.
Demonstrated experience in personnel management.
Experience managing Package/Platform solutions projects such as SAP, Warehouse
Management Systems (Catalyst, Highjump, Manhattan) and Salesforce
Advanced level skill in Microsoft Project (for example: reorganizing large or
complex projects into master and subprojects, optimizing resource assignments
across projects, tracking schedules for completeness and/or budget on complex,
connecting project managers, teams and data across the organization).
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative
environment is essential.
Responsible for overall quality of project output, including diagnosing and
correcting root process or procedural problems contributing to any quality
issues. • Provide design vision and detailed help where required by team
members.
Coach, mentor, motivate team members through all assigned deliverables and tasks.
Champion standards
and methodologies employed by department/team.
Manage and control the contractual relationship with service providers.
Coordinate contract activities, including contract development, negotiation and transition.
Monitor vendor contracts to ensure terms and conditions are met.
Define and manage vendor penalties and incentives, if performance does not meet or exceed established criteria.
Create, negotiate and incorporate contract amendments, renegotiating the contract, if required, to accommodate scope changes or changes in organization requirements.
Review contract
budget variances and takes corrective action as needed.
Coach, mentor, motivate and discipline Project Analysts/Leads. Work with other
managers to perform performance management and coaching activities when these
resources are working on projects managed by others
