Hi. I have never set up a server before and it seemed like sandstorm was the thing for me.

I went with the install script and am doing the forwarding from <me>.sandcats.io

I can access things just fine on my LAN but when trying to access from the internet I keep getting:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /UI on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error ...

I can see the ports are available from canyouseeme.org (80, 6080, 443)

I'm thinking that this is likely a server problem. Running KUbuntu15.20-64

Thanks, this is a really cool thing

Hi Kyle,

This is pretty strange. It sounds like a router problem, but usually router bugs go the opposite way: crappy routers often incorrectly route packets originating inside the network but addressed to the external interface. In your case it sounds like those packets are working, but packets from external sources are not.

Still, I suspect that your router is somehow deciding that the request is for its management interface, or otherwise should be blocked. I don't think it could be Sandstorm's fault as Sandstorm actually doesn't know the difference between requests from inside or outside your network.

So, I think you should investigate your router config.

FWIW, if you tell us your hostname (send it to sup...@sandstorm.io if you don't want to reveal it publicly) we can try poking at it from here and see if we uncover any clues.

Wow, thanks for the quick response!
Yeah, I suspected that it might be my setup. I put the machine in the DMZ and that didn't help though. Will try that again.
Once in DMZ I'll restart sandstorm and see how it goes.

Thanks
Kyle
