You must provide an email address, which will be shared with Let's Encrypt.
Your email address for Let's Encrypt: [MyEmailAddressDefaultedHere]
ERROR: connect(): No such file or directory
There might be more information in: /opt/sandstorm/var/log/sandstorm.log
*** INSTALLATION FAILED ***

Failed to create Let's Encrypt account.

Hmm, installation failed. Would it be OK to send an anonymous error report to the sandstorm.io team so we know something is wrong?
It would only contain this error code: E_CREATE_ACME_ACCOUNT [yes]
Sending problem report...

Any suggestions, or will Sandstorm work without this?  What to do.........

Is there, in fact, anything interesting in /opt/sandstorm/var/log/sandstorm.log ?

Sorry, I did not get your message until this morning.  I did check the log and it was basically timing out.  Could not connect to the server.  I am not sure what to expect when it comes to the server.  Should I have a hosting already setup and running for it to recognize? or is Sandcats.io able to carry the demand for hosting etc.?  I am a new-by trying to find the trail to coding civilization, lol thanks for any help
I have since, uninstalled the Ubuntu package and reinstalled, hoping to have deleted everything the Sandstorm installed and starting from scratch this morning.  Any suggestions on a successful install is much appreciated.

Is there any reason your server shouldn't be able to communicate with Let's Encrypt? Can it ping acme-v02.api.letsencrypt.org?

Hi Jacob,
I am exhausted with trying to get this to work.  I have not dealt with Linux much before.  I downloaded the Virtualbox and the Vagrant on a Window 10 with the Ubuntu version.
I am not getting to the point where Sandstorm is recognizing the URL with the token provided.  I am not sure how or what to do but to uninstall and start from scratch.
Are you aware of some really good instructions for a proper install that has worked for you?  I can't imagine anyone understanding how to bring all of this together without some well documented installation instructions....
Maybe it exists and I just don't realize it when I see it?

Hi Davis,

Sorry you're having a tough time. We do indeed aspire to have comprehensive documentation that's so good, someone with near zero knowledge of Linux can install Sandstorm. It seems like we're not there yet, so we appreciate your patience and grit.

As the docs state, "you need a 64-bit Linux server connected to the Internet". I'm not aware of any reason why an Ubuntu VM running under Windows can't work, but I'm also not aware of anyone who's tried it, so you may run into some rough edges. Are you sure your VM is indeed connected to the internet? It needs to be able to make both outgoing and incoming TCP connections. Probably you'll need to do some configuration in the Windows Vagrant application to allow this.

Cheers,
--Adam
