Hi all,

I'm not sure if we want to document this somewhere, but I have Sandstorm running on Ubuntu 24.04.  I had an issue with my server and absent-mindedly picked 24.04 to move my installation to.  At startup I got a lot of errors and saw "Permission denied; name = /proc/self/setgroups"

I found this (run as root):

echo "kernel.apparmor_restrict_unprivileged_userns = 0" >/etc/sysctl.d/99-userns.conf
sysctl --system

And I ran it and restarted the Sandstorm service, everything seemed to work fine.
I hope this might be useful to someone.

-Mike

This is great. It might make sense for us to nudge it into the install docs somewhere, since this is probably likely to continue to be something people run into considering Ubuntu is relatively popular.

You can definitely count me among the Ubuntu fans, and I could easily have done the same thing that Mike did.
