Many vehicle manufacturers have different access requirements and payment concepts for accessing their vehicle data. As a consequence, the access process can be particularly challenging for independent car repair shops. To counteract this issue, Bosch has developed Secure Diagnostic Access (SDA), a central, integrated and standardized solution, which allows easy access to protected vehicle electronics. Diagnosis can thus be carried out in full, just like before, with the usual functions of ESI[tronic] 2.0 Online.
Thanks to SDA in ESI[tronic] 2.0 Online and a Bosch KTS 560, KTS 590, KTS 350 or KTS 250* diagnostic tester, working on vehicles with protected vehicle electronics remains possible without any restrictions.
Bosch keeps in constant contact with the vehicle manufacturers. The ESI[tronic] 2.0 Online diagnostic software is continuously updated and enhanced with new features, such as working on protected diagnostic access with SDA.
The Wi-Fi pairing button (1) is located below the small lid with the Wi-Fi symbol in the front cover (please follow the steps described in the instruction manual, to open the lid and install the wi-fi dongle). After the wi-fi dongle has been installed, the pairing button can be found on the bottom right corner of the opening. The button has a grey colour (same colour as the Plastic Electronic Module Cover), and a texture with vertical stripes.
Nowadays, numerous vehicles require a manufacturer-specific access authorisation, in order to perform active diagnostic tasks such as the calibration of driver assistance systems or resetting of service notifications. This can present most independent workshops with some serious problems. Bosch have therefore developed a standardised solution: Bosch Secure Diagnostic Access (SDA) provides access to security-protected diagnostic contents using ESI[tronic] diagnostic software. Since August 2021, workshops using ESI[tronic] 2.0 Online, combined with a license for Control Unit Diagnosis are able to access protected electronic systems of several vehicles produced by the Volkswagen group via SDA. Bosch SDA thus meets the requirements of the current security level for tasks on vehicles produced by the VW group. Ever since the ESI[tronic] 2.0 Online and KTS 250 software updates released earlier this year, users can now also use SDA to access protected vehicle data of Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Abarth, Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge/RAM vehicles. Furthermore, SDA has been expanded in June to provide access to current Mercedes-Benz vehicles, as well. In addition, Bosch is also closely cooperating with the development departments of additional vehicle manufacturers in order to continuously expand the access possibilities via SDA.
Bosch SDA is your single access point for secure and authorised diagnostics with no extra charges to your workshop if you have an ESI subscription. To use Secure Diagnostic Access, members of workshop staff need to create a personal free-of-charge Bosch ID consisting of an e-mail address and a self-chosen password via a guided process. A single registration is sufficient. Once registered, they will be granted access to all protected diagnostic data via SDA.
There are basically two ways of accessing SDA via ESI[tronic] workshop software. On the one hand, users can activate the SDA access within ESI[tronic] right at the beginning of their diagnosis using their Bosch ID. On the other hand, ESI[tronic] also informs the users: Once the vehicle is connected for diagnostic purposes, ESI[tronic] opens a pop-up window pointing out that the respective vehicle is equipped with a protected electronic system. By means of a link, users can also access the SDA Help Center providing additional support. It contains important information concerning topics related to Secure Diagnostic Access, such as frequently asked questions as well as explanatory images and videos.
There are more than 200 000 active users worldwide. New practical features and functions within ESI[tronic] software also support workshops in good time concerning future developments and constantly growing demands placed on diagnosis.

In coherence to the philosophy of ABRITES, we optimise all procedures by implementing the ecosystem we have developed. While programming keys for Mercedes, Maybach and Smart using the ABRITES Diagnostics, ABPROG extends the key programming capabilities of the AVDI, making the extraction of the EZS/EIS passwords possible via the ZN036 IR adapter and much faster.
Renewal of the original Mercedes NEC MCU keys (version 51 and 57) is also possible with the ABPROG.
The Abrites proprietary flash database is used for 7G tronic transmission and ISM (intelligent Servo Module) adaptation and re-programming.
The database contains flash files and is used together with the Abrites Diagnostics for Mercedes-Benz offline (without the need of any special function) in order to assist with the adaptation and re-programming of Transmission modules (a.k.a Conductor plates) and ISMs.

The ABRITES automotive solutions for Mercedes-Benz vehicles allow key programming when in need of additional keys or in all keys lost situations. It is compatible with the ABRITES infra-red (IR) keys and PCBs, 3rd party keys and PCBs, and original keys (some original keys could be renewed using ABPROG).
EZS password extraction by OBD or on a bench allows IR key programming for ALL FBS3 vehicles up to circa 2016.
EZS password extraction can now be done using the ZN076 USB IR Adapter, making the procedure easier and faster than before! The Abrites Distribution Box ZN051 is needed, as well.
The password extraction procedure can also be done from a working key with our PROTAG Programmer (ZN002/ZN003), or with our special IR adapter (ZN036). In some cases, the Abrites Distribution Box ZN051 is recommended for a quicker password extraction.
