Fleemarket
When we started organizing this trip, one of my mayor challenges (I have inherited the Citibank habit of never using the word “problem”) was to get the money to be able to leave. One of my ideas was to sell the stuff (clothes, books, some furniture) I did not use anymore. I could put adds on the Internet or go to second hand shops. Participate in an official second hand fair was out of the question, simply because they do not exist in Spain (in Belgium they do). So, I came up with the idea to organize a fleemarket at my place and have my friends buy whatever they found useful.
So, last Sunday I opened my doors from 10 to 10, bought loads of drinks and food, hoping my house would be filled with people nosing through my books or trying this T-shirt or that dress. Of course, Sunday was a wonderful beach day and very few people showed up. So, I decided to try again on Friday, since I had everything set up anyway. No big success either.
Nevertheless, I had a very nice time both days, having breakfast with Veerle & her beautiful daughter Lucía, lunch with Riikka, the afternoon beer with Dave, Roland & Noëlle and the evening chat with Romà and Sandra. Also Carles came by and Dolors, who I hadn’t seen in ages.
What the heck, I can still put the adds on the Internet…

La Casa de Bernarda Alba
What our play is concerned, it has been postponed to September. A shame, because I believed that rehearsing thoroughly would get us prepared by the 4th of June, at least to have a good video to distribute amongst the different theatre halls and get plays from October on. Filming in September probably means not performing before 2008. But half of the people in our group thought we would not get ready in time, so September it will be. That leaves me with two options: either I come back in September and participate in the filming of the play, or I let my substitute do the filming. We’ll see. One decision at a time.
Our trip
We have decided to leave the 8th of June. We will fly to Delhi, travel through the North of India, then to Nepal, Tibet, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos and Burma. We are aware that it is a whole bunch of countries for only 3 months and 3 weeks, but we can always change our plans along the way. Everything’s possible.
