Hi all,
Kelly reminded me that I should let you all know about my new role at UC San Diego – as of September 1, I’ve moved out of the Social Sciences Collection Coordinator position in our Collection Development & Management Program (supervising Kelly Smith, Shawna Terry, and part of Mike Smith) and into the new role of Assistant Program Director in the Research Advisory Services Program.
In this role I will be supervising the Data Sciences Librarian (in recruitment), GIS Librarian (starting November 6), Digital Scholarship coordinator (Erin Glass, who is halftime; with a full time Digital Scholarship Librarian position in recruitment), and 100% of Mike Smith. It’s fairly similar to the role I held prior to our Library reorganization in 2012, though with a much smaller focus on government information and a big push towards launching a digital scholarship center.
I’m continuing as the subject librarian for Political Science, Law, and international government information as long as I can, but the social sciences collection coordinator recruitment behind me is likely to also include some or all of those subjects.
And though my heart will always be in government information, I will have say in the day to day operations around the physical collections. Kelly (federal and San Diego), Mike (California and maps), and Shawna (docs and maps collection manager) will be your best primary points of contact.
Cheers!
Annelise

Thanks! So far, it only feels like a slight variation on my old job, but I suppose that will change with time.
How many more days for you?
My last day “on the books” is Nov. 23; the actually day I leave depends on leave balances.
