Dear Friends-
I am just returning from three refreshing days with the 1st UU Men's Group up at DeBenneville Pines Resort North East of San Diego, 7,200 ft. up in the mountains where we could throw snow balls at each other. Now I am getting back to theings that I held in abeyance while I was incommunicado by phone, computer, etc. for a few days.
Just before leaving, I was involved in a presentation to the International Hosteling Conference at SDSU. There I participated in not one but two world cafe activities, that were distinct from each other.I will have a separate email that goes into them in more depth. The second one was related to an multi-generational presentation that I took part in. All three of us presenting were nonprofit professionals and it was organized by the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network.
Before I left for the weekend i knew we had chosen to postpone the Village Square Cafe Program we earlier anticipated at the Health Services Complex on the west side of San Diego. I had talked to my contact there before I left and ascertained that there were some April and May dates that we might want to consider if we chose to resurface that or a similar event in the near term.
I also spent some time with Tiffany Harrison over at the Urban League HQ in the Gateway Center in the S.E. part of town. This is not far from Lincoln High School where some of us participated in an event with Jim Rough and friends about Dynamic Facilitation and Wisdom Councils on 9/23/09. They have a number of fine rooms that would be available to us, if we chose to meet there. The room with small, movable tables would be appropriate for a world cafe of from 40-50 people.

Please let me know your thinking about the hosting of an event in the near term, before I go any further in the way of reservations.
