I would expect the shop to actually be open during its posted hours.
The hours should be outside the usual business hours to enable people
who work to have the chance to stop by the shop. This would be very
important for a shop that is off the beaten path like the one you are
thinking about. However, this would depend on what type of customer
you are targeting as well as the "official hours" (if any) of the
shopping centre where the shop is located. (Malls have posted hours
during which all the shops are expected to be open.)

It would also be really nice if the shop was available for people to
practice and get together for "jam" sessions. As examples, I *really*
like The Trick Shop's second Thursday workshop. I only wish I have
been able to go these last several months. Alas, work has dictated
otherwise. I am hopeful that I will be able to attend July's
workshop, but that is still up in the air. I also really liked the
Cruising Grand events in Escondido. It gave me a chance to watch and
perform. I learned quite a bit by attending them. I will also show
my optimism by calling Grand Magic after work to see if it is open,
but I am not going to get my hopes up.

It would be nice if the person working at the shop was able to perform
most of the tricks that are at the shop, but I realise that can be
problematic due to the large number of tricks that are available.

The shop should also have a website. It need not be elaborate, but a
web presence in this day and age is almost a requirement. It also
enables the shop to advertise to a wider audience as well as
disseminate information about upcoming events at the shop and
elsewhere. The site could also be used to advertise new products and
the occasional sale. The website can be used to create an email list
for a newsletter, and like other shops those who have joined the
newsletter might receive a special consideration of some sort at the
shop.

I am certain there are other things, but these are what I can think of
at the moment. Please keep me informed of your plans. Depending on
the days and my work schedule I would be willing to help out with
getting the shop set up.
