Hello everyone... I hope you are all doing well.
On Sunday, I was notified that local magician Vince Ulgrich (known as
"The Magic Man") passed away on Friday, April 20th. Vince was in a
battle with Esophagael Cancer, and succumbed approximately 45 days
after he was diagnosed.
Many of you may remember Vince from the Brad Burt Magic Shop days. He
was one of the first and only magicians to perform at the local Dave
and Busters in Mission Valley, as well as at many restaurants in Chula
Vista (he made his home in Eastlake). Vince was from New York
originally, and one of the things that made Vince so entertaining was
that New York humor he would carry. Vince was a very generous person,
a great magician, and will be sorely missed by many people here in San
Diego that considered him a friend.
If anyone is interested, a memorial service is being held for Vince on
Sunday, April 29th. This service will be at the Chula Vista Elks Lodge
(address below) and will start at 3:00pm.
