I tried it out a bit when it first released but not in a while. I just saw an Orange County group start for Sencha: http://www.ocsencha.org/ and I saw a presentation on cross-platform mobile development at http://www.meetup.com/SDMobile/ I think over a year ago and several developers had used Sencha (among others).
