RE: Issue with Altium not reading pdf files from the schematic references…or other pdf file outputs.

I recently have been experiencing an issue with Altium reading pdf files from the schematic editor symbol references links…

Spend a few hours troubleshooting with Dan Goddard, a former employee with Altium that works here with me now…

If you experience this issue here's the fix... :)

It seems Windows 7 is pointing at the wrong place... somehow the link has been broken to the Adobe PDF reader application…  

Go to 'Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Associations' and scroll down to find the .pdf file extension, select it and click 'CHANGE PROGRAM' button in the upper right corner of the screen...

'Open With' dialog pops up and click 'Browse' in the lower right corner...

navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader and select AcroRd32.exe and press 'Open' button in the lower right part of the dialog box.

Go back and try Altium and verify that it works! :)
