A Bench Sales Recruiter markets available IT consultant ("on the bench") to clients or prime vendors to secure contract projects. Key duties include sourcing requirements via job boards, negotiating rates, scheduling interviews, and managing the end-to-end placement process, typically focusing on H1B, OPT, CPT, and GC holders. 

 

Key Responsibilities

• Marketing Consultants: Actively market bench consultants (H1B, OPT, GC, etc.) to prime vendors and clients to secure positions.
• Requirement Generation: Identify job requirements through portals (Dice, Monster), social media, and existing vendor networks.
• Negotiation & Closing: Negotiate salary rates with vendors and consultants to ensure profitable deals, handling the process from submission to onboarding.
• Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with prime vendors to increase placement opportunities.
• Database Management: Maintain and update a "hotlist" of available consultants and their skill sets. 

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience in US IT Bench Sales, usually 0–4+ years.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge: Understanding of US staffing visa types (H1B, OPT, CPT, GC, Citizen) and the IT industry.
• Tools: Familiarity with job portals like Dice, LinkedIn, and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
