Before this film even starts, the audience is treated to a tasteless cartoon sequence where Jack Black induces a cartooned version of Kyle Gass to pass so much gas that he shoots like a rocket off the screen. There is so much offensive language and subject matter in this film that I can easily say it is NOT APPROVED.
Boy spanked with belt, man gets beaten by gang, man hit in head by glass bottles, man's head explodes as a result of listening to loud rock music, man falls out of tree, branch strikes him between the legs and he rolls down a hill, car chase scene with much damage.
Man is instructed to buy drugs, two men smoke marijuana and get high, man eats mushrooms and hallucinates, man dreams of smoking weed with his friend, teens drinking at a party, security guards shown smoking marijuana, men smoke weed from a bong made out of the devil's horn, most objectionable is the implication that they must be high in order to write music and be inspired.
Cartoon Adam and Eve naked from the waist up, picture of naked women on the apartment wall seen in many scenes, scantily clad beach goers, large chested woman jogging in skimpy bikini top, partially nude rears of two main characters.
Bathroom humor, man prays on knees to rock star poster, the use of tarot cards as title pages throughout the movie, satanic symbols shown many times, a cartoon picture of Christ hanging upside down on the cross, the two main characters hold a satanic ritual, stand in the middle of a pentagram symbol and ask for inspiration to write a song, the "pick of destiny" is said to have the power of Satan, man uses his erect penis (thinly covered with underwear) to push a button, main characters told they don't need the Pick of Destiny because "Satan is in our hearts all the time", man turns into Satan, Satan gets dragged down through a fiery hole.
