I had mentioned this event towards the end of the Leadership meeting. If you have a chance to check it out.

BU gets its tech and bio startups to pitch their ideas at this fun event – and yes there is a rock band in attendance.

It fills fast.

The Void Union 

 

 

TDRR 2012 will feature the Void Union. The Void Union is a musical collective, brought together by their love of Jamaican music styles. The band aims to preserve the Jamaican music of the 1960's, collaborate with Ska's originators, and actively recruit guest players from the ensembles that have proven equal to the task of reinventing the genre.

Provost of Boston University Jean Morrison will announce the recipient of this year's Innovator of the Year Award. This award seeks to highlight translational research at Boston University by recognizing an entrepreneurial faculty member who translates his/her world-class research into inventions and innovations that benefit humankind.

 

 

 

The event will showcase emerging technologies from Boston University's research programs in the fields of life sciences, physical sciences, medical technology, new ventures and student-based ventures. The event will also include participation from key translational research centers including the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, the Photonics Center, the Wallace H. Coulter Translational Research Partnership and the Fraunhofer Center for Manufacturing Innovation.
