Admit it, you missed having the meeting last Thursday – where else can you get your fix of participating in a dynamic organization that’s on the cutting edge of promoting entrepreneurship?
Or, maybe you just miss hearing Tom O’D share his family vacation stories…
In any case, yes, we have a meeting this Thursday. Here’s a proposed agenda:

- Workshop #1 – Finance 101 at the Small Business Center – how’d it go? (David)
- Next up: Panel Discussion on Bootstrapping
o Time/date/place (Nancy)
o Tie in with Spinners (Nancy)
o Panelists (David and Nancy)
o Marketing (Emil)
- Update: I-6 Competition for Federal Grant of $1 million (David, Tom, Steve Tello)
o What it is, why we’re trying
o Broad thoughts on structure of our application
o Partner involvement
o Deadlines coming fast
- Accelerator Program Update (All)
o Research on options (Lianna, on phone)
o When to schedule
o How long it should be

Sorry to leave early but I had another meeting at 9am. Some random thoughts on topics that I was around for:
Pitch contest format – ideas were tossed around for modification to the pitch contests. While I think we can continue to tweak these contests I don’t think it would be a good idea to make major changes while we’re trying to building the base for its success. We should allow some time for people to get accustomed to these events, their format, etc. and not add too many elements of surprise, potential confusing the expectations in attendees’ minds. Also, the level/disparity of sophistication among pitch contestants should not lead to narrowing the field of contestants. The Kauffman Foundation has reiterated over and over that entrepreneurs learn best from other entrepreneurs. I think exposing our budding entrepreneurs to more seasons ones offers lessons on how they can improve their presentation/pitch.
There was more, but I can’t seem to remember them…..
