2010 Regatta Schedule

Hey y'all! Well, I have been in contact with the representative of
the Chamber of Commerce and she has penciled us in to hold a sailboat
regatta in lake "Sand Point" on 6 March 2010 from 10 a.m. until 3:00
or 4:00 p.m. She will arrange for the community advertising and a
food vendor to handle all of the breakfast and lunch issues, so other
than recommending what might be acceptable, we will not have to deal
with that nor the cleanup issues. This date was chosen because she
can combine us with a couple of other events slated for the same day
and we won't have to bother with pulling a permit.

If you, the club members agree and decide to support this, I propose
that it be a mixed fleet regatta similar to that we enjoyed with the
Orlando club last Sunday. A mixed fleet event would substantially
increase the participation of members from other clubs. We can score
each class separately even though they are all the water together
(which I highly recommend for the sake of spectator interest level).
Also because of the excellent lead time, I can request some goodies
and handouts from the various of manufacturers through sponsorship by
the store.

We can still have a minimal regatta donation of say $5 or $10 to help
defray any of the clubs expenses. So how say ye? Yea?? or Nay??

Well, skippers and skippettes! It's approved! We are officially set
to hold a regatta/sail-a-thon in lake "Sand Point" on 6 March 2010
from 10 a.m. until 3:00 or 4:00 p.m. I'll be looking forward to your
input and suggestions at our general meeting.

Mr Carter,
I recently found out that the USOM Nationals will be held in Melbourne
on March 6th and 7th. I plan on attending this event with my USOM and
hopefully make the club proud and have a good showing. I apologize
that I will not be able to attend the funday at Sand Point but the
USOM Nationals is something I really want to participate in. I will be
tuning my boat during the next couple months in order to make a decent
showing at the nationals.
Please accept my apology for resigning from this event.
