Got a little bit behind with my Sailing Club duties.
I have a new (to me) computer that is operating on Microsoft XP and my mail is through OUTLOOK 2007.
My previous computer was using Microsoft 2000 software, so I have a learning curve to overcome, hence the delay.
Election of 2011 officers was conducted at the 12/26/2010 club meeting at Chain of Lakes Park.
This was the last meeting of the year, and also the time to elect next year’s officers.
Election results were the same as last year, Butch is Commodore, Dave is Vice Commodore and I will continue as Secretary/Treasurer.
Butch made a motion to increase the club membership fees to $10. Seconded by Bob Boisvert and accepted by club members present.
I reported that the club has no outstanding debts, the 2011 pond insurance has been paid, and the club funds are now $568.00 BEFORE collection of 2011 membership dues. Most of the funds were obtained through the generosity of Dave Greisse, the work of Butch Bragg and the efforts of Bob B.
Butch made a bunch of FOOTIES during the year, Dave contributed Sail material for the footies that the club sold to FOOTY owners, and Bob acquired Carbon Fiber tubes and micro-servos that were also sold with the footies. Dave also donated or obtained, at very reduced rates, TROPHIES for various sailing events. The elimination/reduction of operating costs coupled with the sale of FOOTY materials significantly and positively affected the club funds.
As of Today 1/2/2011, nine members have paid their 2011 dues.
The Sunday sailing events have assigned 15 and 30 second START leads to various sailors, based upon previous sailing efforts. The initial effort on Sunday proved satisfactory and will be continued in the future.
