ABOUT
THE SILVER CENTER
The
Seguin MahJongg Mavens play twice a week at the Silver Center. The
volunteers and staff are gracious and welcoming to our group, which has grown
from 10 to 12 members to 30 to 40 members. Each player pays a small fee to
play.
The
Silver Center is a self-sustaining activity center serving the needs of mature
adults 50+ in Seguin, Guadalupe County and the surrounding regions. A wide
selection of daily, weekly and monthly activities are offered punctuated with
special events. Members of the center are admitted free or at a reduced
cost to most of the center’s happenings. Since the Silver Center receives
no government support, fundraising efforts are a vital part of the ongoing
programs at the center.
We
trust you will enjoy your visit to the Silver Center!
LOCAL
SEGUIN AREA
I
have had several folks email about accommodations in Seguin. My first
recommendation would be the Mosheim Mansion - our B&B. I have not
stayed at any of the following motels. They are chain motels:
Comfort Inn & Suites (new), Hampton Inn (fairly new), Holiday Inn Express
(new), La Quinta Inn, Super 8 Motel, and TownPlace Suites (new). If
one were to pull up hotels and motels in Seguin, a few others might
appear. Because of location or appearance, I could not offer a
recommendation.
Restaurants
for dinner on Wednesday night! We have three new restaurants in town -
Court Street Cafe (right on Court Street downtown), the Power Plant (on the
Stockade Highway - Austin Street) and the Tavern on the Creek (on Nolte
Street). I have eaten at all three and all are great! Seguin has a
number of decent to really good restaurants and fast food places. I’m not
going to list any here - be wild!!
