okay, i am totally not tech savvy at all. i would like some input on
the best way for me to collect each and every one of your all time
favorite 80s tunes. i have enlisted the help of justin johnson and
josh klor to put together the music for our reunion weekend. what i
need is for each of you to choose one song from 84-88 that brings back
to most memories for you.

i know that the constant messages get annoying, so i am looking for a
way to have the list be viewed by everyone (so we don't get 25 people
saying tainted love) but that it is not the constant flow of emails.

ideas . . .

thanks.

Hi,

Here are some songs from 1984-1988 that bring back memories for me....

Prince - When Doves Cry
Madonna - Like a Virgin
Chaka Khan - I feel for you
Guns N Roses - Sweet Child 'O Mine
Grandmaster Flash - White Lines
The Comunards - Don't Leave me this Way
King - Love & Pride
Go West - We Close our Eyes

Also love anything Morrisey and/or The Smiths...Siouxie & The Banshees...and have to admit Duran Duran!

Good luck with this!

Not necessarily saying I like all these songs/artists but not saying I dislike them either...

Huey Lewis and the News, Sports was released in late 1993 but didn't really take off until 1984.  Quick, name a bay area artist who sold more albums while we were in high school.

"Touch of Grey."  Pretty big Marin based band, offices on Lincoln, and Annabelle Garcia was at SRHS at the same time we were.

"We Built This City" came out in 1985 and hit #1.  Saw an internet poll that named this the worst song of all time.  It's not even close to the worst song on the album.  I have it, I'll give it to you, PLEASE, take it! (Again with the Marin County connections...)

Bon Jovi's "Slippery When Wet" was inescapable for a while.  C'mon, you bought it, admit it!

Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam!  "Head to Toe."  Is there anything funnier than bidding against Michael Jackson for the Elephant Man's bones?

"Here I go Again"  Whitesnake.  Unfortunately, Talking Heads "Speaking in Tongues" came out in 1993 so poor taste segues don't really work.

"Sledgehammer" or "In Your Eyes."  1986.  (Good chance I bought "SO" at Josh Klor's Dad's CD store.  Early display of anti-chain behavior, how's that Starbucks on 4th?)

Has anyone noticed that David Lee Roth left Van Halen while we were in high school but is touring with Van Halen during our 20 year reunion?

I remember the U2 concert at Embarcadero that I missed out on skippin
school for. Def some U2. Where the streets have no name.
Van Halen, yes. Josh'll remember Derek singing Oh l'amour. I remember
listening to Living Colour and GnR on ski trip.
i'll have to think of more.
