Dear Jerry,
Please join the American Friends Service Committee and Berkeley Quakers in public witness in opposition to the Trump administration’s violence and authoritarianism. Since the new year, the administration has bombed Venezuela, abducted the president, and is seizing Venezuelan oil. Federal agents have continued their campaign of mass deportation, shooting and killing Renee Nicole Good in front of her house in Minneapolis.
On Saturday January 17 at 4 p.m. Friends, members of other faith communities, and people of conscience will gather at the corner of Shattuck and Vine for one hour of silent public worship.
Our intention is that our presence will give hope to all who see us – to show that we can choose resistance - and remind everyone of our moral obligations to one another.
Love as Action: Resisting Authoritarianism
Saturday, January 17 at 4 p.m.
Corner of Shattuck Ave and Vine Street
Berkeley, CA 94709
Registration is encouraged but not required. We also invite Friends to create and bring their own posters that share messages of resistance and hope.
