Palo Alto Meeting has begun a monthly gathering of Friends to explore our Quaker faith together, which we are calling Quaker Explorations. I serve as convener for the program, which has met three times so far. I have been a part of Palo Alto Meeting since 1992 and have served in many capacities over the years. I am enjoying this new program, and each month I hear different views, experiences, and individual truths that continue to enrich my life as a Quaker.
I am looking forward to joining you all in San Mateo on December 7th for worship and then to share a session of Quaker Explorations with you.
Our sessions last 45 minutes, and we stay within that time frame. Readings will be provided beforehand, and we will read them together before going into worship sharing.
For those unfamiliar with worship sharing, think of it as listening to a series of messages around a specific topic. We pause between messages to allow time for reflection, and we refrain from responding directly to what others have shared. The goal is to speak from our own experience and insight.
The presence of a variety of ages and levels of familiarity with Quakerism enriches the experience for everyone.
Attached is the reading.
