[San Guillermo Parish, Pasig City] San Guillermo extends help to Ulilang Kawayan

BUTING, PASIG CITY – The Parish of San Guillermo started its relief operations to as many as 250 out of an estimated 900 families of Ulilang Kawayan, which continues to be flooded from hip to chest level and to 30 families evacuating in Buting Elementary School.
Bro. Ito Manzano, Social Services and Development Minister, reported that with the donations pouring in, the parish of San Guillermo would be able to distribute the goods once every two days depending on the quantity received.
“The people here couldn’t work. They survive only on menial jobs. It would be hard for them to survive another day in this situation,” Manzano reported, “They would need food that are ready to eat, medicines and clothes.” The residents projected it would take weeks to a month for the waters to subside.
The manpower assistance was supplied by members of the Social Services and Developments Ministry, Knights of Columbus, the Parish Youth Ministry, and the Knights of the Altar.
