SF Rec&Park Director, bike ride event this Thurs. AM

Hi all:
Just got a message through the Dolores Park group that the new
Rec&Park director is going to be leading a group ride this Thursday
9.30 AM, starting at GGPark and heading to Dolores Park. Might be a
good time to get a SFUR presence and counteract some of the recent
negative MTB publicity.

Apparently he's doing a bike ride a day for the next couple of months,
McLaren Park on January 27. Looks as if he's bike-friendly, at least.
So this Thursday may not be the best time for everyone, but I'm just
posting it since it may have one of the bigger turnouts.

Blumenfeld for a Bike Ride to Dolores Park

Friends of Dolores Park Playground is excited to welcome Jared
Blumenfeld as the New Director of Recreation and Parks. One of his
first initiatives is to tour San Francisco parks by bike and to keep a
blog about his experiences and observations.

This Thursday morning, December 18, Jared and supporters of Friends of
Dolores Park Playground will be riding to Dolores Park from McClaren
Lodge, and we invite you to join us on this short, fun ride. If you
prefer, join members as we welcome the riders at the playground with
water and oranges at the expected arrival time of 9:30.

Come, ride, share your ideas, meet the new director, and show your
support of Dolores Park Playground.

this ride was moved to friday dec 19th and I did go on it.

it was a fantastic experience and i encourage everyone to go on one
just to say hi and meet people in the local communities.

He knows SF Urban Riders exists and thought we were doing a good
thing.
