Hello feminists,

Just a quick reminder that this Friday April 23rd is our monthly book
club. We are meeting at 6:30 PM at Progressive Health Services (2141
El Cajon Blvd San Diego CA 92104). We're discussing Jeremy Adam
Smith's book "The Daddy Shift: How Stay-at-Home Dads, Breadwinning
Moms, and Shared Parenting Are Transforming the Twenty-First-Century
Family."

Check out the discussion questions here:

If you can spare $4 or so, it is greatly appreciated. If not, please
come anyway.

Our May book is 'The Sexual Politics of Meat: A Feminist-Vegetarian
Critical Theory' by Carol Adams. Also, please bring book suggestions
for our June topic- Virginity.

In case you didn't know, today is an important day for feminist
activists - National Equal Pay Day. April 20 symbolizes how far into
2010 women must work to earn what men earned in 2009. (http://www.pay-
equity.org/day.html) To read the presidential proclamation, visit the
White House website: http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/presidential-proclamation-national-equal-pay-day

The ACLU is supporting a Paycheck Fairness Act. Click here to learn
more and let you representatives know that you want to close the wage
gap: http://www.aclu.org/womens-rights/aclu-marks-equal-pay-day

Till Friday,

-Rainey
