I just bumped into this on the ACLU website and thought some of you
might be interested -
To highlight today's critical women's human rights issues, the ACLU is
co-sponsoring two parallel events in conjunction with the 54th Session
of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. Join us to
commemorate International Women's Day and Women's History Month. See
link for more details -
http://www.aclu.org/womens-rights/un-commission-status-women-2010
On a different note, please remember that next month's meeting will be
on a *Friday.* As in Friday March 19th at 6:30 PM. Location (we're
rather nomadic lately):
2141 El Cajon Blvd
(Yellow house behind a white picket fence)
San Diego, CA 92104
We're discussing Linda Babcock and Sara Laschever's "Women Don't Ask:
Negotiation and the Gender Divide." This book is also called "Women
Don't Ask: The High Cost of Avoiding Negotiation and Positive
Strategies for Change." Don't worry about which version you get -
it's no big deal.
Also, please bring book suggestions for May's topic: Eco-Feminism.
Also bring a few bucks if you can spare it. No one is turned away for
lack of funds.
