What's Coming Up? On the north side of the intersections of Green Bay Street/Grove Avenue and Halo Avenue/Atwater Street, SANDAG crews will continue to construct new curbs and traffic circles. Next, crews will set up forms and pour concrete for the curb, gutter, and sidewalk. On Beyer Boulevard, between Smythe Crossing and West Park Avenue, crews will continue to place decorative concrete for the raised buffer island in the center of the street.
Please be Work Zone Alert, follow all posted signage, and be aware of new traffic set-ups. Please note construction schedules are subject to change. |

How Might This Affect You? Nearby residents, businesses, and travelers can expect intermittent noise (including OSHA-required back-up alarms) and lights as our crews complete this work. Crews will take all possible measures to minimize the impact of construction activities.

What Happened Last Month?On south side of the intersections of Grove Avenue/Green Bay Street and Halo Avenue/Atwater Street, crews have completed construction of the new curbs and the border of the traffic circles. Crews have now moved to the north side of the intersection where they removed the existing curb and gutter, sidewalk and asphalt concrete pavement. Crews set up forms for the curb and gutter, then placed decorative concrete for the new bus landing at Beyer Boulevard and Dairy Mart Road. Additionally, crews placed asphalt concrete for a new bike lane on Beyer Boulevard between Smythe Crossing and West Park Avenue.

|
The Border to Bayshore Bikeway is a 6.7-mile bikeway that will connect the world’s busiest land border crossing at the San Ysidro Port of Entry and the Bayshore Bikeway in Imperial Beach. The project aims to provide safe biking connections and traffic calming features within and between the communities of San Ysidro, San Diego, and Imperial Beach. Once complete, the project will provide a vital connection for residents and visitors to travel to and from the Mexican border, helping fulfill the vision laid out in the San Diego Bike Plan Early Action Program (EAP).

¿Que Sigue? En el lado norte de las intersecciones de Green Bay Street/Grove Avenue y Halo Avenue/Atwater Street, las cuadrillas de SANDAG continuarán construyendo nuevos bordillos y glorietas. Luego, las cuadrillas instalarán los encofrados y verterán hormigón para el bordillo, la cuneta y la acera. En Beyer Boulevard, entre Smythe Crossing y West Park Avenue, las cuadrillas continuarán colocando concreto decorativo para la isla de separación elevada en el centro de la calle.

¿Qué pasó el mes pasado? En el lado sur de las intersecciones de Grove Avenue/Green Bay Street y Halo Avenue/Atwater Street, las cuadrillas completaron la construcción de los nuevos bordillos y el borde de las glorietas. Los equipos ahora se han trasladado al lado norte de la intersección, donde retiraron el bordillo y la cuneta existentes, la acera y el pavimento de asfalto de concreto. Además, las cuadrillas colocaron asfalto de concreto para un nuevo carril de bicicletas en Beyer Boulevard entre Smythe Crossing y West Park Avenue. Las cuadrillas instalaron los encofrados para el bordillo y la cuneta, y luego colocaron concreto decorativo para la nueva parada de autobús en Beyer Boulevard y Dairy Mart Road.

El proyecto Border to Bayshore Bikeway se extenderá a lo largo de 6.7 millas conectando el cruce fronterizo terrestre más transitado del mundo en el puerto de entrada de San Ysidro y Bayshore Bikeway en Imperial Beach. El proyecto tiene como objetivo proporcionar conexiones seguras para ciclistas y características para calmar el tráfico dentro y entre las comunidades de San Ysidro e Imperial Beach.
