A Destructive Legacy

I have alway thought highly of Malaysian Malays. When I was young my father Tan Sri B.C Sekhar would tell me of the nobility of the Malay race. He would say they were exactly the right people to be a majority in a country like Malaysia, as they would ensure everyone was treated fairly. It was in their dna my father would tell me. And I grew looking up to amazing national figures like Tan Sri Khir Johari, Tan Sri Zain Azrai, Tun Suffian, Tun Dr. Ismail, Tun Ismail Ali, Raja Tun Mohar, Raja Alias, Tan Sri Jamil Jan, Tan Sri Ani Arope, Tun Abdullah Salleh, Tan Sri Koko Majid, Tan Sri Taib Andak and Tun Razak - Here were Malaysians, Malays, not just of national standing, but global leaders in their field. When Tun Razak, created his affirmative action programme, it was also with a noble intent, and he did it with the support of leaders of all of formative Malaysia's races. he was a great leader and good man - and with his death we started to lose our way.
Somewhere along the way the noble master plan was hijacked, manipulated, changed beyond recognition and imposed. And that not even by a true native Malay, but a half Malayalee, half Malay individual known as Mahathir. Today we see what his legacy is. The quality of our teachers, our education system, our civil service, the judiciary, race relations, and the deterioration of respect and standing of our government and our nation. We must not allow a small minority of thuggish, and uncivilised leaders to be the only people heard by the Malay and Malaysian masses. All Malaysians need true Malaysian leadership to stand now. Not one, but many. We need noble leaders (of which there are many in Malaysia) to now come forward and do national service, not just in politics but everywhere. The majority that represents this country needs this leadership.
I say all this, again now because of what I read earlier this morning. For those of you that might not know, a bunch of thugs calling themselves Malays stormed the construction site of a development and started tearing the claddings etc, because apparently they believed that this particular new development would increase the Chinese Malaysian population in their area! Yes you heard me right. The leader of this group, supported by our favourite feel good organisation -Perkasa, is a man called Salleh Ahmad of the Datum Action Committee. You see he is that special breed of donkey that wants the limelight. I mean heck, if Ibrahim Ali can do it so can I sort of crap. I pity those who may be related to this man. Salleh Ahmad is that dirt between your toes that you have to clean away properly every once in awhile or it'll start smelling and cause an infection. He is that for Selangor, for Malays and for Malaysia. An infection, a small one, but small infections can become life threatening if not dealt with. For now he is a little grimy flick of toe scum that we will all just need to clean off. It'll be interesting to look into this Ismail Ahmad's real background and all the little things he's done. But he's not even worth that level of effort. But he is a new member of that team of brilliant and good looking intellectuals that represent perkasa and Isma. I say this to them - your squeals are a sign of desperation. A sign that you too know that for your type of people - and your type is represented in many races in many groups in our country - it's a sign that your days are numbered. It's all going to be over for you soon. Yours is the death wails of a dying animal. And to the the politicians - choose a side, now, and be smart about it. But most importantly to my Malaysian brothers and sisters, allow me to repeat myself again and send this message to the retarded apes that still stand amongst us trying to sow fear and ignorance -

I am Malay, I am Dayak, I am Chinese, I am Kadazan, I am Indian,
WE ARE MALAYSIA.
WE ARE THE MAJORITY.
And we are no longer silent. Don't piss us off !
Vinod Sekhar
