I believe we talked about meeting in-person for the upcoming Haskell meeting, on October 20th at 6:00pm. If I recall, people were thinking that the convenience of having whiteboard and computer screens at the ready would be extra worthwhile for the language discussions, and would make it worth any extra inconvenience that coming to an in-person meeting might be.
We could certainly try to meet in-person for the DDD meeting on 10/6 as well if people are up for it, and I think meeting in-person has a lot of value. But....that's two in-person meetings in a row. it may be worth noting that one of the reasons we moved online was people were finding it really tough to make it to an in-person meeting twice monthly...a few meetings in after the group started up, we hit something like 2 meetings going by with nobody able to make it in-person. We moved to skype and had a lot more success getting enough people and keeping the club viable. But if we do want to consider moving to a significantly heavier balance of in-person meetings, are we going to get enough coming regularly? I prefer in-person, but I also prefer online to a meeting that doesn't happen at all.
