SA Smart: San Antonio's Smart City Challenge is
Here!
What is SA Smart?
In the SA Smart Challenge, student teams in grades 6-12 research a San Antonio-specific smart city problem and propose a strategy, product, or service as a solution. The competition design applies the concepts of
Project-Based Learning (PBL) and STEM and STEAM education, making it a great fit for ANY classroom or afterschool clubs!
How do students benefit?
Student voice and student choice are at the forefront of this competition. Students select and research a San Antonio-specific problem that is both related to the competition topic and the community around them. Their research will likely include STEM subjects,
and may also include entrepreneurship, civics, policy or other topics.
This year's challenge is... AI, San Antonio, and Quality of Life.
Propose a product, service, or strategy that uses AI to improve quality of life for San Antonio-area residents.
Think! AI to improve transportation, health care and access, housing, and more...
