We finished reading Grammar of Anarchy. It was an interesting read
and I liked how we could relate it with recent happenings in India and
abroad.
We primarily discussed Grammar of
Anarchy in context to farmer's protests in Europe. This
newsletter by Pranay Kotasthane dwelled on these protests in detail. Now, given the
farmer's protests in India - Grammar of Anarchy is a very relevant read.
Are we protesting because there are no more constitutional means of
grievance redressal? Are we protesting to hijack policy making? These
are the questions we should all think about.
Next steps:
Please suggest what should we read next! I want to read
Eichmann in Jerusalem by Hannah Arendt. But if you want to read any other material, please suggest!
And
also if any of you are interested in being a moderator during the
reading sessions, please let me know. That way we would not skip reading
any week :)
Looking forward to more readings!
