The Samvera Community is seeking a volunteer Hyrax Technical Lead for 2026, and we’re excited to offer mentorship and training for the role in 2025. If you’re a developer working at an institution that has implemented Hyrax, this role could be a perfect fit for you. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, learning on the go, and contributing to the evolution of technical design and architecture.
In 2025, Randall Floyd (Indiana University) will serve as Hyrax Technical Lead, with Indiana University generously supporting him at 40% time and Daniel Pierce contributing 25% of his time to Hyrax maintenance. Together with Nicholas Homenda (Tufts University), the team will provide strong leadership to ensure a smooth transition for the incoming 2026 Tech Lead.
However, Indiana University will conclude its staffing for Hyrax technical leadership after 2025, which is why we’re now looking for someone to step into the role for 2026.
To make the transition manageable, we’re offering a Hyrax Tech Lead mentorship opportunity in 2025. This role allows you to:
