I'm delighted to announce that Antleaf Ltd, a technical consultancy and development company based in the United Kingdom, has officially joined as a Samvera Partner. This partnership highlights Antleaf's commitment to advancing open-source repository systems and contributing to the Samvera ecosystem.

Antleaf has a distinguished history of working with Samvera software products, beginning in 2016. Specializing in developing and supporting repository systems and related metadata standards and protocols, Antleaf has made significant strides in the field. Since 2018, Antleaf has collaborated closely with Cottage Labs, another UK-based software development company, on all Samvera-related development work.

Antleaf's impressive portfolio of clients and projects includes:

  • Japan's National Institute of Materials Science (NIMS): Antleaf developed and maintains the Materials Data Repository (MDR), based on Hyrax 3. Materials Data Repository

  • Ruhr University Bochum (RUB): Antleaf is developing a large research-data repository, also based on Hyrax 3. Research Data Management System

  • Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI): In partnership with Cottage Labs, Antleaf is developing new features for and maintaining WPI's repository of special collections and student projects, using Hyrax 3 and Spotlight. WPI Digital Repository

Antleaf's director, Paul Walk, has been an active participant in the Samvera community, contributing to various events, including Samvera Connect 2023 and the European meeting in the same year. This involvement underscores Antleaf's dedication to the open-source ethos and its intention to proactively contribute code and resources to the Samvera community.

Beyond commercial development, Antleaf is a longstanding member of the broader repositories community, working with organizations like the Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR). Antleaf aims to engage the Samvera community in COAR initiatives, particularly the development of the COAR Notify protocol.

The Samvera Community is excited to welcome Antleaf Ltd and looks forward to the valuable contributions they will bring to our collective efforts in advancing repository technologies.
