Join the USRN community for a conversation on electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs)—one of the most complex and collaborative aspects of repository work. We’ll explore how campuses manage submissions, approvals, metadata, access, and long-term preservation, and how responsibilities are shared between libraries and graduate studies.
Discussion topics include accessibility of legacy and new content, embargo policies, metadata creation, and the infrastructure choices that shape ETD management—whether you’re running Fedora or Hyrax, or using solutions like DSpace or Digital Commons. We’ll also dig into student support, copyright considerations, and the balance between openness, publishing, and privacy needs.
