Hello Colleagues,

Duke University Libraries (DUL) has multiple vacancies in our Digital Strategy and Technology division. I’ve included brief descriptions below along with links to the full position descriptions. There is also a contact listed if you have questions. Please share these postings far and wide.

All three positions are ideal for early career professionals seeking to develop their skills as they work.

Digital Repository Developer

  • This position designs and develops the technical infrastructure to support the management, preservation and appropriate access to digital assets created or managed by the library.  Works closely with digital asset and metadata managers and other library and University staff to develop and implement repository solutions. Participates in Scrum with developers, dev ops analysts, and product owners from across library departments.
  • DUL maintains two Samvera based digital repositories; one that is specifically for research data and one for more general library collections.
  • This position may be eligible for a remote working arrangement.
  • More details and application instructions are available here: https://library.duke.edu/about/jobs/digitalrepositorydeveloper
  • Starting salary: $60,000
  • Search contact: Will Sexton, Head of Software Services

Repository Services Analyst (2 vacancies)

  • These two positions ingest and help collaboratively manage content in their digital preservation systems and platforms. Repository Services Analysts partner with the Research Data Curation, Digital Collections, and Scholarly Communications Programs, as well as other library and campus partners to provide digital curation and preservation services.
  • DUL will hold an open zoom session where prospective candidates can join anonymously and ask questions. This session will take place on Wednesday January 12 at 1pm EST; the link to join is posted on the libraries’ job advertisement.

Web Experience Developer

  • This position develops and maintains web applications utilized by faculty, staff, students, and other patrons of the Duke University Libraries (DUL). Supports middleware and interface development for DUL’s web platforms. Serves as an analyst for a variety of areas, including UX, accessibility, workflow optimization, and applications architecture. Participates in Scrum with developers, dev ops analysts, and product owners from across library departments.

Thank you and happy holidays all!

Best,

Molly
