And that's what it is, all centering on the famous diarist and his
long-suffering, wonderful wife. You're welcome to contribute stories
or tidbits about the Pepys, but keep it family readable, (say PG-13)
please. If commenting on a story, particularly by someone other than
me, please keep it polite and friendly. I will decline and remove
stories or comments that I deem offensive or intolerant toward others,
though I will hear you out on a borderline case if it's integral to
the tale. Other than that there are no rules, let your imagination
run wild.
I highly recommend you read up on Pepys if you're no familiar with him
and his world. The Diary is on-line at several places, most notably
www.pepysdiary.com the site created by Phil Gyford, chock-full of
great background material and annotiations by many fine commentators,
including some true history and entymology buffs. The Claire Tomalin
biography "The Unequalled Self" is an excellent resource.
