Bhāgavata Purāṇa 11.15.5

गुणेष्वसङ्गो वशिता यत्कामस्तदवस्यति ।

एता मे सिद्धयः सौम्य अष्टावौत्पत्तिका मताः ॥

guṇeṣv asaṅgo vaśitā
yat-kāmas tad avasyati |
etā me siddhayaḥ saumya
aṣṭāv autpattikā matāḥ ||

 Dear Scholars,

can you help me understand what is the root of  avasyati   and its meaning?

I think its avaso See Monier-Williams dictionary where it gives the meaning for its use in the Bhagavata Purana as "to obtain"

but avaso does not have a verb form like avasyati.
