Dear scholars.

Why is this root not in the MW dictionary?
What is special about it?

It is found in bhagavadgītā 1.45:

व्यवसिताः = व्यवसित  ... वि+अव+√ सा (p.p.)

I think the root is not सा but सो 
व्यवसितः
, त्रि, (वि + अव + सो + क्तः ।) प्रता- रितः । इति मूरिप्रयोगः ॥
