Today, on the first day of the auspicious Śrāvaṇa month (as per the pūrṇimānta reckoning), I am pleased to pronounce the publication of my fifteenth book, Śivatāṇḍavabodhinī: Śivatāṇḍavastotra para Hindī Ṭīkā (Varanasi: Chaukhambha Classica, 2025, ISBN 978-93-91730-84-0, viii + 120 pp.). The book is the Hindi version of the author’s own Sanskrit commentary Śivatāṇḍavatālikā on the Śivatāṇḍavastotra. A 30-page sample of the book is attached with this message. शिवताण्डवबोधिनी: शिवताण्डवस्तोत्र पर हिन्दी टीका

विश्व-विख्यात शिवताण्डवस्तोत्र का संस्कृत स्तोत्र-साहित्य में अद्वितीय स्थान है। पञ्चचामर छन्द में निबद्ध एवं भक्तिभाव से समृद्ध इस स्तोत्र में ताण्डवकर्ता शिव की स्तुति है। शिवताण्डवस्तोत्र के अनेक अनुवाद छपे हैं, पर इस स्तोत्र पर प्रौढ टीकाएँ अत्यल्प हैं। प्रस्तुत पुस्तक लेखक द्वारा ही प्राचीन संस्कृत टीकाओं की शैली में लिखी गई एवं व्याकरण, प्रमाण और तर्क से मण्डित शिवताण्डवतालिका संस्कृत टीका का हिन्दी संस्करण है। पुस्तक में दिए गए अन्वय, शब्दशः अर्थ, अनुवाद और विस्तृत व्याख्या के माध्यम से संस्कृत न जाननेवाले पाठक भी शिवताण्डवस्तोत्र का सार-तत्त्व सुगमता से समझ सकते हैं और इस स्तोत्र को आत्मसात् कर सकते हैं। शिवभक्तों के लिए शिवताण्डवबोधिनी एक अमूल्य निधि है।

Śivatāṇḍavabodhinī: Śivatāṇḍavastotra para Hindī Ṭīkā

The world-famous Śivatāṇḍavastotra has a special place in the ‘stotra’ literature of Sanskrit. This ‘stotra’, set to the Pañcacāmara metre and reverberating with the feeling of bhakti, praises Śiva, who performs the divine dance known as Tāṇḍava. Although many translations of the Śivatāṇḍavastotra are available, advanced commentaries on the ‘stotra’ in Sanskrit are very few. The present book is the Hindi version of the author’s own Sanskrit commentary Śivatāṇḍavatālikā, which is written in the style of old Sanskrit commentaries and is embellished with grammatical analysis, citations and logic. By the means of the construe (anvaya), word-for-word meanings, translation and detailed commentary, even those Hindi readers who do not known Sanskrit can understand the essence of the ‘stotra’ easily and can feel one with the ‘stotra’. For bhaktas of Śiva who know Hindi, the Śivatāṇḍavabodhinī is a great treasure.
